Welled her eyes.

A look of empathy
And a smile of concern
Lumped up her throat.
No, I don’t call her weak,
No, she is not a coward
Nope, not even an attention seeker.
Poor thing, a little kindness and love, is what she had been deprived of.
Well, not a word of kindness
Forget about the applauds and ⁸pats.
Love and care are what she has been serving for others.
With not even a look of gratitude in return.

Of herself
and even worse made to believe it.
Blamed, accused
Shamed and shattered.
She spent days collecting the pieces of herself.
Finally she has managed to
Clumsily mend her soul,
Covering all those cuts and wounds with a smile.
And believe me, she does it
